African Violets transplanted in water with guppy fries

I wanted to do experiment transfering my african violet in water with guppy fries. While I feed my guppy fries, they poop and and poop produces ammonia for the plant. Excess food not eaten by the fish also creates toxic to the fish but not to plants.
